Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of the award-winning CarbonNeutral® natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, announced today that the company is donating over 42 tons of its super-premium water from Iceland to help in Haiti’s fight against cholera. This is the latest commitment and the third major donation from Icelandic Glacial to aid in the recovery in Haiti under the company’s “Water For Life” foundation. In January, Icelandic Glacial water was the first to arrive on the ground with the Iceland Search & Rescue Team following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Icelandic Glacial bottles will be delivered to Haiti by Operation Blessing, a non-profit relief organization dedicated to alleviating poverty and human suffering.
“This has been an extremely challenging year for Haiti. It’s important for Icelandic Glacial to continue to show our support in the fight against cholera by sharing our fresh, clean water from Iceland with the people of Haiti,” said Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial.
Icelandic Glacial uses 100% natural green energy in the form of geothermal and hydroelectric power to fuel production. Icelandic Glacial’s label and plastic bottle are 100% recyclable. Earlier this year, the company’s water source was declared certifiably sustainable by Zenith International, Europe’s leading food and beverage consultancy.
