Icelandic Water Holdings ehf, makers of the award-winning, CarbonNeutral® premium natural spring water Icelandic Glacial, announced today their continued commitment to disaster relief by donating 20 metric tons of water to aid in the efforts of this week’s tornado devastation in Joplin, MO. In conjunction with the local Red Cross and Salvation Army, Icelandic Glacial will be providing 1 litre bottles to victims and disaster relief volunteers as they begin the rebuilding process. This marks the sixth major donation from Icelandic Glacial in conjunction with the company’s Water For Life foundation, which has provided 478 metric tons of water and more than one million dollars of product value for post-natural disasters throughout the world.
“Through the fast-acting assistance of our Anheuser-Busch wholesaler partners in the Midwest, we are able to provide disaster victims access to clean drinking water as soon as physically possible.” says Jon Olafsson, chairman and co-founder, Icelandic Glacial. “Our hope as a company is that this donation of water will help to relieve even the slightest amount of stress that rests so heavy on the shoulders of anyone affected by such shocking catastrophes.”
